Grand win for 'Argo'!!!!
And super-liked that 'Life of Pi' has bagged 4 Oscars, and 'Les Miserables' 3!

I have seen all the films listed here, yeaaaaaah...... and am happy for the wins this year, I had predicted that Ang Lee would be winning though most had thought it'd be Steven Spielberg with the Best Director award. Glad that 'Argo' won the Oscar for Best Picture, although I must say that 'Lincoln', 'Silver Linings Playbook', 'Amour' and 'Life of Pi' are all favorite films of mine.

I loved Les Miserables - the musical - a lot. I know the songs could have been better, as many had said, but I would make a special mention for Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway doing a great job by putting their heart and soul into the songs.

Finally, saw them all! Have to say that MOONRISE KINGDOM captured my heart, totally, as did LIFE OF PI and SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK. I also found BEASTS OF THE SOUTHERN WILD to be very interesting, different from the usual favorites and winners.

I won't say that the films in contention at the Oscars this year were too good to boast about, but half a dozen of them managed to intrigue me indeed. I would give preference to films like 'Beasts of the Southern Wild', 'The Master', 'Silver Linings Playbook', 'Flight', and 'Lincoln', for diverse qualities though.

I wonder why films like 'Frankenweenie', 'Amour', 'Moonrise Kingdom' and 'Anna Karenina' did not release in theaters here in Kolkata....... a real shame that I could not watch them on the big screen. I feel sorry for my fellow citizens who missed out on the opportunity despite these movies have created not only the Oscar buzz but were also treats that were fit to be experienced by all cinebuffs.

Missing from the list:
The Avengers, ParaNorman, Prometheus, Snow White and the Huntsman, and Hitchcock!
All of them I had liked much!

Thanks everybody for the comments. Glad to know about your favorites as well.

I am sorry, ankit, I could not include The Avengers because it had just slipped from my mind, having seen it quite early, long before the Oscar buzz was generated.
I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed it - as it had fulfilled the criteria of its very genre rather successfully.
Would soon write about many of the other films that I have been seeing lately and I hope to see all the other films from the Oscars listing of yours by then, ankit.
