'Prince Avalanche'

A minimalist tale, with layered character analyses, and dollops of odd humour and genuine warmth.....
that's what the doctor ordered, perhaps, and that's why I was absolutely spellbound, thrilled beyond doubt, to have stumbled upon David Gordon Green's gem of a film:
'Prince Avalanche'.
The verdict is plain and simple: It's fabulous.
Recommended for all fellow film-buffs.

From all your recommended movies this year (via Facebook), this one surely is a rare gem. But I also loved the other movie that you recently wrote about: 'Adore'. Do include your take on that, as well as a more detailed discussion on this one, i.e. 'Prince Avalanche', in the comments section, especially on the on-screen chemistry between Paul Rudd and Emile Hirsch.

I would have wanted this film to release here in India, as I loved it and know that most would share my love for the movie. But the fact remains that had it been released in theaters, at least here in Kolkata, people wouldn't have exactly queued for it to watch. Now that the online buzz has been generated thanks to blogs and chat-rooms and forums vide social networking, the film would be sought on the web, and thus seen by many, am sure.

A genuinely funny and interesting film, for all seasons - be it mellow, misty or mellifluous.

It's one of the most underrated films, and yet it is a brilliant film, it packs a lot more punches with its deceptively simple script than is done by many of the biggies of late.
