Kai Po Che I Freedom. Dreams. Destiny I Promo

Freedom. Dreams. Destiny. 'Kai Po Che'!!!

I am excited by the promos, and the songs, and the supposedly interesting making of the new film from Abhishek Kapoor based on the successful novel of Chetan Bhagat, named 'The 3 Mistakes of My Life'. Abhishek Kapoor had earlier struck gold with the film 'Rock On!', after having had much struggle as an actor and even as a director. Whereas Chetan Bhagat happens to be the best-selling Indian author who writes essentially about the youth and their relationships and aspirations. The film stars Sushant Singh Rajput, Amit Sadh, Raj Kumar Yadav, Amrita Puri, Manish Chawla and others. The screenplay has been penned jointly by Pubali Chaudhari, Supratik Sen, Abhishek Kapoor and Chetan Bhagat. Anay Goswamy is credited with the cinematography, and the music (the songs have become chartbusters already) has been scored by Amit Trivedi. The film has garnered a place of pride with its being screened in the World Panorama section at the Berlin Film Festival this year, and is awaiting its release worldwide this Friday.

Loved the story, with its profound passages that moved me. Chetan Bhagat does that almost always.
I hope the film delivers as well, I know it is tough to do so. But Abhishek Kapoor's 'Rock On!' was a cult film, so I do have faith in his interpretation. But what has me most excited - after having seen the promos - is the fresh-cast...... the three guys seem perfectly as friends, brothers, for life!

Much impressed. Thrilled, actually.

Sushant Singh Rajput is having a dream debut on the big screen, after having been a household favorite with millions already thanks to his television career.

Amit Sadh will have a fresh lease of life after his major ups and downs on the small screen (his highs and lows were both in the inaugural season of Bigg Boss, almost ages ago!).

Raj Kumar Yadav has been a favorite for filmmakers in off-mainstream ventures (though he has also had breakthrough presence in some big-ticket flicks).

The three of them are looking perfect for their parts and they seem to be having a rocking chemistry among themselves. I hope they all strike gold with 'Kai Po Che!'

All the best to team 'Kai Po Che!'

Everyone's going gaga over Sushant Singh Rajput since the promos first came out and he is being hailed as the next big thing in Bollywood, but one should also know to what extent he prepared for the role of Ishaan, who is crazy about cricket. Sushant had to literally sweat it out, hard. He had to undergo body toning sessions, rigorous cricket practice, strength-training, cardio and dieting. He even underwent practice sessions with seasoned cricketers like Zaheer Khan and Ashish Nehra.

It's one of my most favorite stories. I think I connected with the narrative at a subliminal level.
I am extremely curious to see how the climax of the tale pans out on the big screen.
Will probably catch the first show itself!

It's a landmark film! Loved it. In fact, I was apprehensive as I did not like the book so much, especially the way the tension had played out there. Had found it awkward and somewhat disappointing. But the film successfully smoothed those bits, perfectly. And as a result, the film has become all the more credible and rooted in reality, although the wish-fulfilling cheeriness is not lacking. I am sure the film will be lapped up by people of all ages.

Thanks for the comments, expecting more in the days to come...... now that the film is out and expecting all my readers to watch it.
I positively recommend this film. It is one of the very best in recent times. I loved the film.
I completely agree with Mehul, it offers us a precious lesson in scripting from pre-published material; we need to mould the tale as per filmability.
A big thanks to the ones who have executed and crafted such a fine entertainer, that is both emotionally engaging and deeply satisfying.

This film definitely joins the ranks of such celebrated buddy flicks as 'Dil Chahta Hai', 'Rang De Basanti', 'Rock On', 'Zara Si Zindagi', and 'Mere Apne'.

I loved the film. Especially loved Sushant Singh Rajput and his character. The actor has surely made a big splash with this breakthrough role. I hope he can prove his mettle in the forthcoming films as well.

Hey, I loved the movie, and I loved the songs immensely.
The songs carry forward the film as they are supposed to do for any good film. The same had been the strong point for the other grand success for Chetan Bhagat - '3 Idiots' - which however had only the germ of his story and its essential spirit.

In my view, 'Kai Po Che' works better than the stilted narrative of the book because of the solid screenplay, solid performances, solid camerawork and editing, and rock-solid music.
