http://www.sakagaze.blogspot.com is the blog address for some of the cool and not so cool observations by Anindo Sen, a passionate Kolkatan. Kolkata is likely to feature prominently on this blog, just as it is likely to feature the personal preferences - as far as films, books or music or other finer aspects of life are concerned.

The Greatest Joy
The greatest joy - according to me - is to look at a cute baby that throws its charms to instantly make itself feel wanted & loved. Well, there are different theories explaining the irresistible baby charm. One of them is that nature makes them that way to ensure the survival of the species. Babies are so cute, cuddly, adorable! Human babies need a longer time span to develop and be socialized and it is therefore important for them to be liked by their parents or other adults around them. Being so cute works in their favor. But they bring such joy into our lives, we feel blessed in their cherished company. There is no prejudice or hatred or fear in a baby’s heart, nor does the child make value judgments. No one can possibly find a more accepting or complete person than a baby.

The babies indeed bring joy and happiness, but they are a vulnerable lot who are often brought into this world unthinkingly. And that thought itself saddens me at times.

:-)
cutesy baby pics!
babies do not remain babies fo eternity......
these are just some fleeting moments...
but, to a parent, or to a dear one, or to even a stranger, the baby's smile brings infinite joy, the babies' absolute surrender make us want to protect them with all our might....
and the sweet memories are frozen inside our head forever!!!!!
You are absolutely right!
Babies are God's gift to mankind to let them be more humane and kind. They are the greatest gift that we can ever have. It is a wonderful feeling to hold one's own youngling in one's arms and nurture and nourish one to youth or adulthood. Only a mother or a father can truly feel what it is like to be blessed with a child.
I agree that u have put forth quite a balanced perspective. But, in general, don't u think that motherhood, and having or rearing babies is a bit over-glorified at times? Do we really need to be so consciously pressurising ourselves, as far as the projection of our 'love & affection' for our babies? Isn't it the overstating of the obvious?
