My Message

My message to the world,
and to someone in particular.

Be Happy.
Happiness is indeed a strange concoction.
We confuse happiness with so many things.
Happiness or contentment? Which is more desired?
Which carries more weight?
Sometimes, we lie to ourselves, and say
we are happy when we are not.
We fail to be happy, wholesomely.
I would like to quote Carl Sandburg
who, in his poem Snatch of Sliphorn Jazz, asks:
'Are you happy?'

And, then, asserts:

'It's the only
way to be, kid.
Yes, be happy, it's a good nice
way to be.
But not happy-happy, kid, don't
be too doubled-up doggone happy.
It's the doubled-up doggone happy-
happy people . . . bust hard . . . they
do bust hard . . . when they bust.
Be happy, kid, go to it, but not too
doggone happy.'

You too stay happy, dear.
Remember, you are not entrusted to make all and sundry happy.
Especially, not at the cost of your own happiness.

Happiness is a perfume; you cannot spread it on others without getting at least a few drops on yourself..... not my words, but a favorite quote.....
so, one can strive to make others happy and it'll amount to one's own happiness, for sure.

May happiness be spread all around. May happiness spread on earth, and maybe even beyond, like the most potent virus ever!:-)

We cannot be happy if we expect to live all the time at the highest peak of intensity. Happiness is not a matter of intensity but of balance and order and rhythm and harmony.
It's important to make someone happy, & important to start with yourself!

"The happy have whole days,
and those they choose.
The unhappy have but hours,
and those they lose."
~Colley Cibber
