Dude, I have seen all the movies from your list from 'Rocky' onwards and I find your selection commendable. But I haven't seen the ones from the Thirties or the Forties or the Fifties or the Sixties. Wanna be on the lookout for them for sure!

you must watch Singin In the Rain sir... it transcends every boundary you can think of in context with cinematography, performance, music and .... well i DID say every boundary !

Wonderful selection...... Indeed there can always be arguments favoring exclusions and inclusions, but your personal preferences would surely please most cine-buffs.

Singing in the Rain -
Though it happens to be a favorite of mine could not be featured in the list because I have only enlisted the ones which won the Best Picture Oscar!

I guess many of the viewers would find wonderful movies in the years gone by that did not manage to bag the prestigious best film Oscar. Just like 'Singing in the Rain', there are plenty more in the list of Oscar misses! For example, in 2006, I was heartbroken when 'Brokeback Mountain' failed to get the best pic Oscar, though its director Ang Lee was rewarded, it remains one of my favorite films of all time.
