The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey
http://www.sakagaze.blogspot.com is the blog address for some of the cool and not so cool observations by Anindo Sen, a passionate Kolkatan. Kolkata is likely to feature prominently on this blog, just as it is likely to feature the personal preferences - as far as films, books or music or other finer aspects of life are concerned.

'The Lord of the Rings' trilogy had taken some time to grow in my mind and imagination as I had not read the book before watching the movies - was too young and immature actually. But this time, with 'The Hobbit', revisiting Middle-earth made me connect easily and it was a smooth liking on my part. Can't wait to watch the remaining parts of the prequel trilogy!
Unexpectedly good. Unexpected - because I did not think that Peter Jackson can recreate the magic of TLOTR movies. But I was pleasantly surprised.
I am happy to note that Peter Jackson hasn't got a bit jaded in his treatment as he embarks on this new set of trilogy - the prequels to the classic L.O.T.R trilogy. This first installment is vivid, energetic and experimental as well (with the updated technology used).
Longish, and a bit repetitive (in the stretched battle sequences), but enjoyable on the whole.
Loved the film! Thanks for sharing my passion for the Hobbits, bro!
