'Hugo', from director Martin Scorsese, is pure magic!
It's a work of pure passion, and an unadulterated love for cinema.
'Hugo' boasts of an impressive cast - from the likes of Ben Kingsley, Christopher Lee, Richard Griffiths, Frances de la Tour, Ray Winstone to Sacha Baron Cohen, Jude Law, and Emily Mortimer. But the one who shone the brightest and stole my heart was Asa Butterfield, in the title role. And I must also mention the youthful Chloë Grace Moretz. These two naturally gifted young performers are definitely to watch out for.

The breathtaking visuals, the 1930's feel, the innocent craving for adventure, the enigmatic and endearing characters, and the underlying irony in the story-line has made 'Hugo' the favorite of the masses and the critics alike.
No wonder it touched your heart.
Yeah, you had saved the best film for the last! 'Hugo' scores high in my ratings chart, much above 'The Descendants', 'War Horse', 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo', 'Moneyball', 'Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close', and even marginally above 'The Artist'. I loved it to the core.
Hugo reminded me once again what movies are really all about....... movies move us....... well, all good movies do....... that's why the motion picture tag is loved so much by me. And a film directed by Martin Scorsese is always termed A Martin Scorsese Picture! Hugo might not have some of the Scorsese shenanigans, but it has more; above all, it has a heart. It connects with our hearts hence.
Lovely post, buddy. And what a film! Loved it, loved the story, the acting and the wonderful setting. Martin Scorsese couldn't have gone farther from his signature style and create something as different and genuinely appealing. 'Hugo' adds yet another feather in his cap.
An awesome, memorable film. Will always feature among my all-time favorites.
I loved 'Hugo' immensely. As much as I loved 'War Horse' and 'Tintin'.
I consider Hugo a major feat, both technically and cinematically. It has a soul that makes watching the movie a sheer delight.
I surrender totally and absolutely to the warmth and the infectious charm of 'Hugo'. It won my heart, it wins my vote as the BEST FILM of 2011!
